Working sheep dogs  bred and trained

I am Phil Rigby, based near Kendal and working at a variety of locations around the Cumbria area.

I have trained sheep dogs over the past 33 years, and since leaving Lancashire Fire and Rescue in 2013, have made working and training sheep dogs my full time occupation.

All my dogs are registered to the International Sheep Dog Society (ISDS)

For  information about available dogs or pups, please check the “My Working Sheep Dogs and Pups” section, or contact me directly.

I may have dogs for sale that are not on the “Sheep dogs and Pups” page! Please contact me.

The picture (Left) is my 2nd oldest, Scott. He has bred several excellent working dogs. Although our attendance over the past few years has been somewhat intermittent due to the pressures of family life; Scott managed to win the Cock of The North (600 yard gather) Championship and was 4th in the Longshaw Double Gather, both in 2021.

Amongst the many working dogs that he has sired is the English Nursery Runner-Up 2022.

Old News…….

On the 26th and 28th June, 2022, I took part in the bi-annual Heaves Hall Farm Open Days for primary school children.

I carry out sheep dog demonstrations on my section of this event.

(Right)Here I am explaining to the children, why I have an engraving of Scott (my first ever sheep dog) on this shepherds’crook. The sheep can be seen at the gate behind; eagerly anticipating the arrival of my dog!

This is a bi-annual event, so we’ll be doing the same again in late June.
